Foley Design Workshop
SSR’s Paul Maunder leads an interactive and engaging workshop which explores the fabulous world of foley using examples taken from Aardman Animations’ Shaun the Sheep.
Foley is the process of creating or re-creating sound effects in sync with video or film. Named after Jack Foley, a sound editor at Universal Studios, a foley artist’s job is to recreate the realistic sounds that the production portrays. In this workshop we look at the process of performing and recording foley for animation. From the rustling of clothing movement to footsteps, door slams or action sounds, we will build the sound for a scene using a variety of props in order to create compelling and impactful audio.
Note: A volunteer will take you over to the workshop, there will be a meeting point in the foyer at HOME.
